Congressman Paul Tonko visited the CES facility for a tour and meet & greet

Centrotherm Eco Systems, manufacturer of the InnoFlue® brand of Polypropylene Vent Systems, accessories, and the BlitzFlex® Air Intake Solution, welcomed Congressman Paul Tonko to its facility on Wednesday, August 1st.

The groundwork for the visit was laid at the HARDI congressional Fly-In event in Washington DC where Michael Sokaris, Centrotherm’s North American Sales Manager, made the initial contact with the Tonko team. The planning and coordination followed with Centrotherm working in conjunction with the Congressman’s staff.
Congressman Tonko, a self-described “engineer working in politics,” took his time asking probing questions about the manufacturing process and stopped at various manufacturing cells to engage and speak with the operators.
Over the course of the afternoon, Congressman Paul Tonko toured the entire facility, met with the Centrotherm staff, heard remarks delivered by CES officials, and took questions from attendees of the event.
Jim Molloy, Centrotherm’s VP of Business Development, closed the Centrotherm presentation with an impassioned plea for improved code requirements and safety standards – the overall impetus for the visit.  Tonko then praised Centrotherm for its commitment to research and development, revitalization of the community, and growth as a manufacturer and exporter of American-made products.
Turnout for the event was exceptional. In addition to the Congressman and his staff, the tour included members of Albany’s Building and Regulatory Compliance office, building inspectors, Centrotherm customers, technical trade writers, manufacturer’s representatives, and members of the media.
Centrotherm is grateful to Congressman Paul Tonko for taking the time to learn about the manufacturing process and is hopeful that he will rally to the cause, helping to influence change and make flue gas venting safer in New York and throughout the nation.
