FAQs
InnoFlue® Lite is a lightweight, CE EN 14471-certified polypropylene venting system designed for use with Category II and IV gas-fired appliances (U.S.) and Class II C appliances (Canada). It is suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications with flue gas temperatures up to 230°F (110°C) and maximum pressures of 0.725 psi (5000 Pa).
Yes. Use paints approved for polypropylene, such as Rust-Oleum or Krylon. Remove ink markings with acetone, apply an appropriate adhesion promoter, and reattach the product label once dry.
Use Centrotherm-supplied support brackets when possible. Horizontal runs must be supported every 39" (1 m); vertical runs must be supported every 78" (2 m). Directional changes (elbows/tees) should be supported within 12".
Yes, InnoFlue® Lite is the perfect solution for air intake in both code and non-code markets.
Yes. All diameters of InnoFlue® Lite SW Rigid components are UV stabilized and suitable for exterior installation. Optional black components are available in 2" and 3" for aesthetic preference or enhanced performance.
Not directly. For underground applications, InnoFlue® Lite must be installed inside a larger diameter, direct-bury-rated pipe. The vent must be pitched, supported, and allowed to expand/contract inside the sleeve.
The maximum continuous vertical vent length is 164’ (50m).
InnoFlue® Lite is designed to withstand flue gas temperatures up to 230∘F (110∘C).
No Solvents or Glues Required, Faster Installation Time, Superior Temperature Resistance, Environmentally Friendly & Safer, Lightweight & Durable, Flexible System Options.
InnoFlue® Lite can be field cut to length using a hacksaw and miter box or equivalent. InnoFlue® Lite must be cut on the male end of the pipe, preserving the socketed (female) end. After making a cut, the end can be beveled at the contractor’s discretion. The end must be deburred using a standard deburring tool or sand paper.
InnoFlue® Lite is approved for gas-fired Category II and IV appliances and is suitable for vertical or horizontal venting in new or retrofit installations, including chimneys, chases, and through-wall terminations.
Yes, InnoFlue® Lite works seamlessly with standard InnoFlue® and InnoFlue® Flex components and accessories, including terminations.
The polypropylene material has inherent insulating properties. For extreme cold outdoor environments, mineral wool and aluminum cladding may be used.
A condensate drain should be installed as close to the appliance outlet as possible, especially for horizontal runs over 50 feet, unless the appliance manages condensate internally.
Yes, provided the chimney or B-vent is structurally sound and not shared with other appliances. Use base supports, spacers every 78", and avoid spray foam or mortar.
Yes. All components are factory-equipped with gaskets. If a gasket is damaged or missing, replace it with a genuine Centrotherm part. Clean gaskets and gasket beads before assembly.
Yes. Apply Centrocerin (water-based lubricant) or water to the male end to ease insertion into the female socket.
Horizontal runs must pitch back toward the appliance at a minimum of 1° or 1/4" per foot (2.1 cm/m) to ensure proper condensate drainage.
In exterior applications, a single stainless steel screw may be used to secure direction. Octo Clamps are required for 2" and 3" diameters under CE EN 14471 compliance.
The InnoFlue® Lite Octo Clamp is engineered to provide enhanced support on all pipe fitting connections, reducing the risk of leaks and joint failures. It also integrates a 3/8 " threaded rod to support the weight of the vent system.
Maintain a minimum of 12" from the termination to grade or anticipated snow level. Do not extend more than 12" from the exterior wall. Follow local codes for specifics.
A rain cap is not required, but bird screens are recommended and may be mandated by local codes.
InnoFlue® Lite is sold in effective lengths of 2′ and 3′, 6′. Effective length is the distance between the male end and the beginning of the female socket. Overall length includes the socket. When assembling/laying-out a system, always utilize the effective length.
Yes. For rooftop terminations, follow flashing and sealing instructions. Vertical terminations over 59” above the roof line must be supported with guy wires or braces.
InnoFlue® Lite Quick Kits are all-in-one solutions for installing standard residential exhaust systems. They are designed to save time by supplying every necessary component for a quick and professional job and are evaluated to CN EN 14471.
InnoFlue® Lite Quick Kits include all components necessary to terminate an exhaust run. We offer Quick Kits (wall) and Quick Kits (roof). Quick Kits (wall) provide an easy way to quickly complete shorter horizontal installations. Whereas, Quick Kits (roof) include components necessary for vertical termination.
A base support must be used for any vertical run that exceeds 10 inches when not supported by a support or Octo Clamps.
InnoFlue® Lite Special Gas Vent Systems are intended for use on condensing heating appliances. Condensing appliances generate one gallon of condensate per hour per hundred thousand BTUs. A pitched system ensures that condensate does not build up inside the vent system. Pooled condensate creates back pressure and leads to the forced shut down of the heating appliance.
InnoFlue® Lite's gasket technology allows for the rapid installation of the system. InnoFlue® Lite can be installed without roughing in the system or penciling the elbow locations as InnoFlue® Lite components can be rotated in place and disassembled. The use of gasketed vent systems reduce installation time by up to 75% when compared to glued systems.
Heating appliances connected to InnoFlue® Lite can be fired upon completion of the vent system unlike glued systems which require a 24-hour curing period.
